Welcome to the World of Custom Emblem Manufacturing!!
Below are some of the most common asked questions. These questions and answers also prove to help us setup a common ground of knowledge so that we can better work together in creating your custom emblems.
Be sure to read as many as you can. The more you know, the better we’ll be able to help you out!!
Many times people will try to send us images of existing product or emblems and ask us to copy it for them, but to change a few elements. Unfortunately, due to changes in International Copyright Law, we can’t do that. Even if the picture is of an old discontinued vehicle or emblem. Possible copyright limitations prohibit us from copying design from existing product in all cases.
However, whatever you can send us as your design, or as artwork, we can reproduce as a custom emblem specifically for you. The complexity of the design, and the file type that you send us will influence the cost of your order, however we CAN help you out.
Below is what we are referring to when we say Design/Art Work:
The best type of file to send us, which will keep your costs as low as possible is called a Vector File.
This is our most common question. Vector files are something the average person has never heard of. This makes explaining what a vector file is a difficult task at times.
We have found some really great Youtube Clips that help us explain what this is.
This clip is from an Independent Graphic Designer. It really explains what a vector graphic (file) is:
Here is another Video by a design company that explains a bit:

Making letters from scratch, or from a JPG image is actually more difficult than it seems. Lettering is exact. Any small detail that is out of place is instantly noticable. Therefore, converting a JPG image of letters takes us a lot of time, which will end up costing you more.
To keep costs as low as possible for you, we need a font for any lettering that you have in your design. Font files are special computer files that hold all the information for lettering styles. Us having the font file saves us the time, which saves you cash.
There are a couple places you can find font files
1. The internet
There are a ton of websites out there that host Fonts. Most of them are free for personal us. However font files also have special permissions, called Licenses. Some Licenses allow free use commercially, others are only free for personal use, and some aren’t free at all.
If you find a font online that you want us to use, send us over the URL and we can tell you if we, as a company, can download it commercially.
If the font you want to use isn’t free for commercial use, then you can still use it for your project. We just need you to download it and send it to us to use for your personal project only. We keep files for all our clients and we do not share what you send us with any other clients, thus the font will only be used for you personally.
There are a couple websites that we direct customers to that have worked out really great in the past:
Some fonts are free for commercial use, some aren’t
All are free for commercial use
Simply send us the URL for the font that you want to use, or download the font file and send it to use as an attachment.
2. Your home computer:
You can see the fonts you have on your computer through programs like Microsoft Word. We are licensed to use any fonts found in Microsoft word. If you know the name of the font, shoot that over to us and we can take a look. However if we don’t have it in our system. We need you to send us the font.
The fonts are stored in a special location called a Font Folder. Here are a couple of Youtube clips we found that helps us locate this folder.
Windows Font Folder Location:
Mac osX Font file location:
Simply copy the font from the folder location to the desktop. Then attach that file to an email to us. That’s it.
Keep in mind that the proportions of your artwork may change the dimensions you request for your emblem.
For example, if you were to send us the above design, but requested the dimensions of 4″ x 3″ that would distort the proportions of the design, and would come out looking warped:
If this was your design, and you wanted the emblem to be at most 4″ long, then the proportionate hieght would be .95″ as seen below:
In order to get you the most acurate quote, we need both dimensions, and as proportionate as possible.

Simple design work is included at no additional cost. If you require more help, our artists are very talented and the cost is quite reasonable.
Unfortunately due to the custom nature of our services we cannot simply use another client’s design to make your emblem. EmblemArt does not claim to own any of the designs that are made into emblems for our clients. In most cases they are considered as the property of the clients who purchased them. The images on the website are simply for convience and provided only for their lawful use. We just like to show off what you guys are designing!!!
And don’t worry just as can’t share past clients designs, we will not share yours either. Just send us your artwork and we will make your design into your very own Custom Emblem.
Check the PRICING tab to the left and be sure to select whether its a custom art emblem or a simple text emblem. Take a look at the GALLERY tab to see the differences for each material.
For all orders there is a one time setup and rendering fee of $49.99. If you are a return customer you only have to pay a setup cost to set the machinery back up to make your emblems. That cost is $29.99. Additional emblems of the same design will cost depending on the square inch rate. Unusually complex designs may cost more. But we work with you so there will be no surprises.
Yes, we can do large quantities using a variety of materials. Please email us for details, as technology and techniques are always changing.
The process of ordering an emblem can either be very quick, or it can take awhile. What it boils down to is how often we communicate back and forth. The downtime between email responses is what takes the most time. The quicker you respond to our messages the quicker you’ll get your emblem. Different types of emblems have different lead times. See the chart below
Total Lead time
|Acrylic Chrome/Black||1 week||1 week||2 weeks|
|Carbon Steel||1 week||5-6 weeks||6-7 weeks|
|Billet Aluminum||2 weeks||5-6 weeks||6-7 weeks|
|Large Quantity (300+)||1 week||6-8 weeks*||5-9 weeks*|
*Lead time for large orders varies depending on the method and material of the emblems.
Of course there are extenuating circumstances, that much be accounted for. After all these are custom products and we want to assure that you are 100% satisfied. We refuse to supply you with anything but the best product. At times this may mean that your order could take up to twice the predicted lead time. But we’ll always try our best to get you your emblem as soon as possible, and we will always keep you informed of the progress. Feel free to contact us about the status of your order at any time.
In most cases a 50% deposit is required. In some cases however, such as with large emblems orders, a larger deposit, or full payment may be required.
We require a deposit for Custom emblem orders because it takes a long time to create your emblems. Our designers have to render and convert files into usable formats to be sure that you get the best product available. This requires a lot of time. And as we all know, time is money.
Also the deposit pays for some of the material that will be used to make your sample emblems as well as your emblems. Without a deposit we simply cannot provide you with any of the neccessary steps to be sure that you are 100% satisfied.
The last reason is that the deposit works as a contract. Just as you would have a contract signed to have custom cabnets, or granite countertops, the deposit works as a contract for full payment once the work is completed to your satisfaction.
Unfortunately because of the nature of the deposit it is not refundable. ( See above: Why is there a deposit required ). Because the money from the deposit is already spent, there is no way to refund it to you. Remember this is custom work. No emblem we supply is mass produced.
There are 2 payment options available. 1 – Online Payment via Credit Card by a Payment link, or Payment Request (PayPal), or for larger amounts, and some materials, payment by check.
Due to the custom nature of our services, there is not a set price for emblems. Email us your design and we’ll get you a quote. You can then pay through a custom paypal link that we will send you.
EmblemArt uses United States Postal Service for all shipments. Most custom orders will be sent via USPS Priority mail. International shipments are sent by this same method. Unfortunately due to the fact that neither the USPS or EmblemArt can control international mail protocall, International shipments will not be guaranteed against damage or loss. Additional shipping options are available upon request for any order.
YES we offer a rush service. There is a Rush fee of $125 for Rush orders. With a rush order you get the following services:
- Overnight Shipping via USPS Express Mail service
- “Next-Up” Setup and Rendering service (Your order will be the next order that we will work on.)
- Priority Positioning in the manufacturing batches
Typically Rush orders are done in around 3 days vs the 2 weeks that many orders will take.
